A 23-year-old man, Anthony Thomas Reyes, scaled the walls of former President Donald Trump’s exclusive Mar-a-Lago resort late Monday night.
Shortly after midnight on Tuesday, Reyes was discovered by the Secret Service and arrested by Palm Beach Police for trespassing.
He made an unusual and indecent proposal to marry Trump’s teenage granddaughter, 18-year-old Kai Trump.
At the time of the incident, President Trump was in Washington D.C., while Kai was vacationing in the Bahamas.
Trespasser’s Strange Motives
Reyes told officers he climbed over the towering walls surrounding Mar-a-Lago specifically in search of Kai, who had just turned 18 the previous month.
He also claimed he wanted to “spread the gospel” and speak with Trump himself.
This was not Reyes’ first attempt to enter the property.
He had been issued a stern warning for trespassing on December 31, 2024, when President Trump was present at the residence.
Currently, Reyes is being held at Palm Beach County Jail on a $50,000 bond and has pleaded not guilty.
