Abuja lawyer Deji Adeyanju says Jonathan rejects 2027 presidential comeback

There has been growing speculation about the possibility of former President Goodluck Jonathan making a political comeback in the 2027 general elections.

Reports suggested that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been pressuring him to contest against incumbent President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Jonathan has remained silent on the matter, a move that has fueled more rumors that he may have accepted the call to run for office again.

Deji Adeyanju Clears the Air

Human rights lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, has now dismissed the claims.

In a post shared on his Facebook page on Monday, Adeyanju stated that the idea of Jonathan returning to contest in 2027 is no longer on the table.

Jonathan Not Interested in 2027 Race

According to Adeyanju, the former president has no intention of running for the presidency again.

He emphasized that Nigerians should disregard such speculations as distractions.

Adeyanju’s Exact Statement

Adeyanju wrote, “GEJ is not interested in running for president in 2027.

That chapter is closed.

Anything you hear about GEJ is a distraction.
