A former presidential aspirant under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, has strongly criticized the All Progressives Congress (APC), alleging that the ruling party operates like a cult rather than a political organization.
APC Members Accused of Zombie-Like Obedience
Speaking with journalists in Abuja, Olawepo-Hashim claimed APC members follow instructions without question.
He likened their obedience to zombie-like behavior, stressing that the party lacks the essence of a true democratic body.
APC Faulted for Absence of Ideology and Democracy
According to the PDP stalwart, the APC is devoid of ideology, internal democracy, and any credible vision for Nigeria’s future.
He said real political parties thrive on collective participation and democratic ideals, but APC runs on directives from a few individuals.
Nigeria’s Economy Allegedly Crashed Under APC
Olawepo-Hashim further blamed the APC for Nigeria’s economic decline.
He noted that the country’s GDP fell from over $570 billion in 2014 to less than $300 billion in 2025.
He also highlighted that GDP per capita dropped drastically from above $3,000 to below $1,000.
PDP Chieftain Questions APC’s Leadership
He concluded by stressing that APC has failed to live up to its promises of change.
Instead, according to him, the ruling party has worsened Nigeria’s economic and political stability.
