Ahmadu Bello University Appoints New Vice Chancellor

Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, has officially appointed Professor Adamu Ahmed as the university new Vice-Chancellor. This decision was made during the 209th (Special) Council meeting, presided over by the institution’s Chairman of the Governing Council, Mahmud Yayale Ahmed. The appointment marks a significant leadership change at one of Nigeria’s most prestigious universities.

Professor Adamu Ahmed brings a wealth of experience to his new role. A distinguished lecturer in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning, he has contributed significantly to the university’s academic and administrative development. Prior to his appointment, he served as the Director of the Directorate of University Advancement, where he played a vital role in building relationships between the university and external stakeholders.

Professor Ahmed is also the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the Federal University of Education, Kano. His leadership in various academic and administrative capacities has earned him a reputation as a competent and strategic administrator. The appointment of Professor Ahmed has been met with widespread support from stakeholders within and outside the university.
