Modibbo Adama University of Technology (MAUTECH), Yola, has officially opened its postgraduate application process for the 2025/2026 academic session.
Whether you are aiming for a Postgraduate Diploma (PGD), Master’s, M.Phil., or PhD, the university’s School of Postgraduate Studies invites prospective students to apply now.

MAUTECH offers a broad range of postgraduate programmes.
These include Postgraduate Diplomas, Master’s degrees (both professional and academic), M.Phil., and PhD options.

Who Can Apply?
Postgraduate Diploma (PGD)
Applicants need:
- A degree with at least Third Class honours from MAUTECH or any accredited university.
- An HND with a minimum Lower Credit (CGPA 3.50 on a 5-point scale).
- Other qualifications accepted by the university’s board.
- Some departments may require additional tests or interviews.
Master’s Degree
To qualify, you must have:
- A first degree with at least a Second Class Lower or better in a relevant field.
- If your degree is Third Class or you have an HND, a PGD with at least Lower Credit is required.
- Passing a qualifying examination might be necessary for certain programmes.
M.Phil.
Candidates should have:
- A Master’s degree with a minimum CGPA of 3.0 on a 5-point scale or 50% Weighted Average Mark (WAM).
- Some departments may require a qualifying exam.
PhD
For direct entry into a PhD programme:
- A Master’s degree with CGPA of 3.50 or higher is mandatory.
- M.Phil. holders with the same CGPA are eligible.
- Only degrees from recognised universities will be accepted.
General Admission Rules
Applicants must have:
- At least five relevant subjects at credit level in O’Level, including English Language and Mathematics.
- Candidates who completed their first degree before 2004 may be admitted with a pass in Maths or English.
- Additional departmental tests may be administered before final admission.
Programme Duration
The duration for full-time programmes is as follows:
- PGD: Minimum 2 semesters, Maximum 4 semesters.
- Professional Master’s (MBA, MPA, etc.): Minimum 2 semesters, Maximum 4 semesters.
- M.Sc.: Minimum 3 semesters, Maximum 6 semesters.
- M.Phil.: Minimum 2 semesters, Maximum 4 semesters.
- PhD: Minimum 6 semesters, Maximum 10 semesters.
How to Apply
To apply, follow these steps:
- Visit the MAUTECH postgraduate application portal.
- Create a Candidate Account using your mobile phone number.
- Purchase the application form for ₦15,000 via the registered mobile number.
- Complete and review the application form online.
- Print two copies of the completed application form.
- Attach photocopies of your academic credentials to both copies.
- Submit the documents to the Secretary of the School of Postgraduate Studies.
Transcript Submission Requirement
Applicants must:
- Complete the online transcript request form on the portal.
- Contact their previous institutions to send official transcripts along with the request form to:
Secretary, School of Postgraduate Studies, Modibbo Adama University of Technology, Yola.
- Note that applications will not be processed without receipt of official transcripts.
