Chaos Erupts as Trump Family Denies Connection to New Trump-Branded Crypto Wallet

A Trump-branded crypto wallet announced by the creators of his memecoin has sparked confusion and backlash as Donald Trump’s sons deny any connection to the project.

The situation has been described as “absolute chaos” following conflicting public statements and warnings from key members of the Trump family.

Magic Eden and TRUMP Token Team Announce Wallet Launch

On June 3, the NFT marketplace Magic Eden and the team behind the Trump-themed memecoin “Official Trump (TRUMP)” announced the release of “the Official $TRUMP Wallet.”

The promotional materials claimed it was the wallet “by President Trump” and linked to GetTrumpMemes.com, a site involved with past Trump digital ventures.

Trump’s Sons Publicly Reject the Wallet

Soon after the announcement, Donald Trump Jr. disavowed any connection with the wallet.

He stated that the Trump Organization “has zero involvement with this wallet product” and clarified that he knew “nothing about it.”

He also revealed that their own crypto platform, World Liberty Financial, would be releasing the family’s official wallet soon.

Eric Trump added to the confusion by warning Magic Eden to “be extremely careful using our name in a project that has not been approved and is unknown to anyone in our organization.”

Even Barron Trump, typically quiet in the media, made his first-ever X post to state that the Trump family “has zero involvement with this wallet.”

Speculation of Internal Disruption Among Trump Crypto Teams

Crypto critic Molly White, who broke the story, described the unfolding scenario as “absolute chaos.”

She speculated that there is a serious communication breakdown between different crypto ventures associated with the Trump brand.

So far, the TRUMP token team, Magic Eden, and the platform’s CEO Jack Lu have made no public response to the family’s statements.

Complex Ownership Behind the TRUMP Wallet Project

The Trump Wallet website claims it is the “Official $TRUMP Wallet by President Trump.”

It also mentions a collaboration between Magic Eden and GetTrumpMemes.com for the launch.

GetTrumpMemes.com is operated by Fight Fight Fight LLC, a firm co-owned by CIC Digital LLC.

CIC Digital is affiliated with the Trump Organization.

Together, they reportedly hold a majority of the TRUMP token supply.

Entrepreneur Bill Zanker is listed on legal documents for Fight Fight Fight LLC and is known to hold a significant portion of TRUMP tokens through CIC Digital.

Zanker has previously worked on Trump-related crypto ventures including NFT collections and is also behind a Monopoly-style crypto board game.

Not the First Confusing Crypto Tie-In

This is not the first time there’s been confusion surrounding Trump-linked crypto initiatives.

Trump Media and Technology Group — the parent company of Truth Social — initially denied a Financial Times report on May 26 suggesting it was raising $3 billion to invest in crypto.

Just a day later, the company reversed its position and confirmed a $2.5 billion capital raise.

This included $1.5 billion in stock sales and $1 billion in convertible bonds aimed at acquiring Bitcoin.

Conclusion

The Trump-branded wallet controversy highlights ongoing confusion and conflicting interests within Trump-affiliated crypto projects.

With no official word from the token creators or Magic Eden and the Trump family distancing themselves, the future of the “Official $TRUMP Wallet” remains uncertain.

Observers and investors will be watching closely to see how this chaotic rollout resolves — and whether an official Trump family crypto wallet ever makes it to market.
