Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad of the Delta State Police Command arrested a 39 year old man identified as Bassey Udoh during a stop and search operation along DBS Road, Asaba.

The suspect was apprehended on August 16, 2025, at about 5:11 a.m. during routine police checks in the area.
Recovery of Firearm
According to reports, an English Beretta pistol was recovered from the suspect at the time of his arrest.

The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident in a statement issued in Warri.
Suspicious Behavior Triggered Search
SP Edafe explained that Udoh became visibly uncomfortable upon sighting the officers, prompting them to search him immediately.

During the search, officers found a Beretta pistol inside his cross bag.
