The 1st Vice Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Ebonyi Central Zone, Hon. Kevin Tobias Chukwu, has expressed optimism that the party will regain its political strength and perform better in the 2027 general elections.
Chukwu, who also serves on the PDP National Zoning Committee, made the statement while speaking with journalists on Friday.
Zoning as a Pillar of Fairness and Stability
Chukwu described zoning as the foundation of equity, fairness, political stability, and internal democracy.
“Yesterday, I had the honour of being inaugurated into the PDP National Zoning Committee at the National Secretariat in Abuja. This responsibility comes at a critical time for our party, our state, and our country,” he said.
He emphasized that zoning ensures justice and inclusivity, setting the stage for a united PDP ahead of 2027.
Strength from Grassroots Mobilization
The PDP leader reaffirmed his belief in the party’s resilience, highlighting its strong grassroots structures and its ability to listen to the people.
“The work begins now—reorganising, reconciling, and mobilising from the wards to the national level,” Chukwu stated.
Call for Unity Among Party Members
Chukwu urged PDP members in Ebonyi State to remain focused and resist distractions from impostors or anti-party elements.
“The future belongs to the disciplined, the consistent, and the united. Engage actively in your wards, participate in party programmes, and strengthen our base for the great victory ahead,” he charged.
Youth Engagement and Political Opportunities
Addressing youths in Ebonyi Central Zone and across the state, Chukwu promised to create more opportunities for their active involvement in politics, governance, and economic growth.
“Your energy, innovation, and courage are the engine of our political future. Together, we will write a new chapter for Ebonyi and for Nigeria,” he concluded.
