FUTB Announces 2024/2025 Matriculation Ceremony Date and Guidelines

The Federal University of Technology, Babura (FUTB) has officially scheduled its matriculation ceremony for the 2024/2025 academic session.

This important event will take place on Tuesday, 29 April 2025.

It is a compulsory ceremony for all 100 Level and Direct Entry students who were newly admitted into the university.

Matriculation Fee Payment Starts 22 April

To participate in the ceremony, every new student must pay a matriculation fee of ₦1,000 at the Cash Office of the Bursary Department.

The payment begins on Tuesday, 22 April 2025.

Note that this fee is non-refundable.
Only students who make this payment will be allowed to collect their matriculation gown.

Gown Collection Schedule

Collection of academic gowns will also begin on Tuesday, 22 April 2025.

The deadline to collect is Monday, 28 April 2025.

Gowns will be issued from the Academic Office, and students are advised to go early to avoid delays.

Forms to Be Completed Before the Ceremony

Two forms are required to be filled by all matriculating students:

  • Matriculation Oath Form
  • Release of Academic Gown Form

These forms must be submitted after the matriculation ceremony, along with the returned gown.

Submissions should be made at the Academic Office.

Attendance is Mandatory for All Freshers

FUTB has made it clear that attendance at the matriculation ceremony is mandatory.

No student will be excused from participating.

Freshers must plan ahead and ensure they are present for this milestone event.

Return Gown on Time or Pay Penalty

After the ceremony, gowns must be returned between Tuesday, 29 April and Monday, 5 May 2025.

Late returns will attract penalties.
In cases where gowns are lost or damaged, students will bear the full replacement cost.

Handle the gown carefully and return it promptly to avoid additional charges.
