Google has launched PixelSnap, its new magnetic accessory system designed for the Pixel 10 series.
This feature allows users to connect chargers, stands, grips, and other add-ons directly to their phones.
The announcement comes nearly five years after Apple debuted MagSafe with the iPhone 12 in 2020.
PixelSnap Accessories and Cases
Alongside the Pixel 10 series, Google has introduced PixelSnap cases and accessories.
The lineup includes a Ring Stand, which attaches to the back of the phone and doubles as a kickstand.
Wireless Charging Capabilities
All Pixel 10 devices are compatible with the Qi2 wireless charging standard.
The Pixel 10 Pro XL supports 25W wireless charging, while the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Fold each support 15W wireless charging.
PixelSnap Charger and Stand
Google is also releasing a PixelSnap charger and an optional charging stand.
The standalone charger can be used when laying the phone flat, while the stand allows users to charge their device while viewing content or displaying widgets.
Pricing for PixelSnap Accessories
The accessories are priced as follows:
- PixelSnap Case: $49.99
- PixelSnap Ring Stand: $29.99
- PixelSnap Charger: $39.99
- PixelSnap Charger with Stand: $69.99
Compatibility Beyond Pixel
Google confirmed that PixelSnap works with Made for Google partners’ accessories, as well as certain MagSafe-compatible products such as car mounts and wireless chargers.
The Bigger Picture
With PixelSnap, Google aims to build an ecosystem of accessories that rival Apple’s MagSafe.
This move not only enhances the Pixel 10 lineup’s usability but also expands the company’s hardware ecosystem in the global smartphone market.
