Johannesburg – Kaizer Chiefs Eye More Signings Before Transfer Deadline

Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach Cedric Kaze has suggested that the club could still bring in new players before the September transfer deadline.

So far this season, Amakhosi have confirmed seven new signings.

Head coach Nasreddine Nabi had the chance to assess most of these additions during the team’s pre-season camp in the Netherlands last month.

Strong Start to the Season

Over the weekend, Kaizer Chiefs began their Betway Premiership campaign with a 2-0 victory over Stellenbosch FC in Athlone.

The result extended their unbeaten run against the Cape side.

Kaze on Potential Signings

Speaking on future transfers, Kaze said the team would only make moves if the right opportunity arose.

“We still have a foreign spot available, but we will not fill it just for the sake of it,” he explained.

“If an opportunity is worth it, we will probably take it.”

New Arrival at Naturena

This week, Kaizer Chiefs announced the signing of former Cape Town Spurs winger Asanele Velebayi.

The attacker joined the club on a free transfer after resolving a dispute with his former team.

Transfer Speculation Continues

Nigerian striker Etiosa Ighodaro has been linked with a move to Chiefs.

Valued at around R28.5 million by Transfermarkt, he is currently on the books of Mamelodi Sundowns.

While Sundowns are not open to loaning him, they are willing to sell for the right price.
