R6 Million Midfielder Edson Castillo Set for Exit
Midfielder Edson Castillo does not feature in head coach Nasreddine Nabi’s plans for the 2025/26 campaign.
According to iDiskiTimes, Nabi may be open to Castillo’s departure to free up a foreign player slot, enabling Chiefs to recruit new international talent for the season ahead.
Castillo, who carries a market value of over R6 million according to Transfermarkt, is expected to join the growing list of players leaving Naturena.
Seven Departures Already Confirmed
Castillo would follow in the footsteps of Ranga Chivaviro, Njabulo Blom, Sabelo Radebe, Edmilson Dove, Mduduzi Mdantsane, Yusuf Maart, and Bongani Sam — all of whom have already been released by Amakhosi.

Meanwhile, Nasreddine Nabi was recently seen on the sidelines with the team, though reports suggest the Chiefs hierarchy is dissatisfied with aspects of his management and will hold decisive talks about his future.
Amakhosi’s Transfer Activity So Far
Kaizer Chiefs have been highly active in the market, finalising 18 deals in total — 10 of which involve new additions, including six fresh signings and four promotions from the academy.
Three players from PSL rivals are also reportedly close to completing their moves to Naturena.
However, with new signings on the way, the club will need to make space by letting more players go.
