Kaduna: ADC Denies Coalition with El-Rufai’s SDP Ahead of LG Polls

As Kaduna State prepares for its local government bye-elections, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has firmly denied forming any coalition with former governor Nasir El-Rufai.
The state party leadership also dismissed speculation of an alliance with the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Kaduna.

Upcoming Bye-Elections in Kaduna State

The bye-elections are scheduled to take place in Kajuru/Chikun Federal Constituency, Zaria, and Sabon Gari Constituency.

El-Rufai’s Visit Sparks Political Speculation

Recently, El-Rufai, a key figure in the national opposition coalition that adopted the ADC, received a warm welcome from SDP members during his visit to Kaduna.
This fueled speculation about a possible political alignment between the ADC and SDP.

ADC Clarifies Position

State Chairman Ahmad Tijjani Mustapha stressed that the perceived link to El-Rufai was a deliberate attempt to mislead the public.
He stated clearly that El-Rufai is not a member or official of the ADC.

No Formal Agreement with SDP

Mustapha reaffirmed that the ADC in Kaduna has no written or verbal agreement with the SDP or any other political party in the state.
