Troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA have neutralised seven armed bandits during a clearance operation in Baba, Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State.
Operation Based on Intelligence
The raid, which lasted for more than two hours on Thursday, was launched following credible intelligence about the movement of bandits terrorising farming communities in the region.
Bandits Overpowered
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, seven of the criminals were killed while several others escaped with gunshot wounds.
Motorcycles Recovered
During the operation, troops also seized four motorcycles that had been used by the attackers to carry out assaults on villages.
Call for Community Support
Makama noted that residents have been urged to provide timely intelligence to security forces in order to strengthen counter-banditry efforts and ensure safety, especially during the rainy season when rural communities are more exposed.
