Kano spokesman defends Ganduje, dismisses corruption allegations

Muhammad Garba, spokesman for former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Abdullahi Ganduje, has dismissed allegations of corruption against his principal, insisting they are politically motivated.

Garba, a former Kano State Commissioner for Information, in a statement on Monday, said Ganduje governed Kano with transparency, accountability, and left behind lasting legacies during his eight-year tenure.

State government accused of false claims

He accused the Kano State Government of deliberately linking Ganduje to financial mismanagement, land grabbing, and overspending through the Protocol Directorate, stressing that the allegations were false.

According to him, “Governor Ganduje’s record reflects decades of service to Kano State. These narratives are acts of misinformation aimed at distracting the public from real governance issues.”

Activities carried out within the law

Garba explained that all activities executed by the Protocol Directorate were administrative, lawful, and consistent with state-approved budgets.

He maintained that suggestions to the contrary were distortions of the truth.

Ganduje’s legacy in Kano

The former commissioner emphasized that Ganduje prioritised development and responsible management of state resources.

He pointed to several enduring programmes and projects left behind as proof of his administration’s commitment to progress.

Call against propaganda

Garba urged the public, media, and political actors to stop using Ganduje’s name for propaganda or political attacks.

“If there are genuine concerns, there are proper legal channels to address them. Dragging a former leader’s name into these narratives is unjust,” he concluded.
