Kourtney Kardashian Shares Photo of Herself Crying After Daughter Penelope Finishes 6th Grade: ‘My Baby Girl’

Kourtney Kardashian Barker is feeling emotional as her daughter Penelope moves up in school.

On Tuesday, June 3, the 12-year-old captured a touching moment of her mom crying.

Kardashian Barker, 46, shared the photo with a caption explaining that she was in her feelings after Penelope completed sixth grade.

“Me crying bc my baby girl is done with 6th grade,” she wrote, adding, “she’s taking pics of me.”

In the picture, Kardashian Barker is seen wearing cheetah print pajamas while covering her face.

Family Life and Children

Besides Penelope, Kourtney Kardashian Barker also has two sons, Mason and Reign, with her ex, Scott Disick.

She is stepmom to her husband Travis Barker’s children: son Landon, daughter Alabama, and stepdaughter Atiana, whom Barker shares with his ex-wife Shanna Moakler.

The couple welcomed their son Rocky in November 2023.

Views on Traditional Schooling

Last month, during an appearance on sister Khloé Kardashian’s podcast Khloé in Wonderland, Kourtney shared her thoughts about the traditional school system.

The discussion began after Kourtney talked about the importance of living life authentically.

“No, I think living authentically is not conforming to whatever it is,” she explained.

“For me, there’s so many ways. There’s ways we function as a family that … It’s like if someone does the same thing every day. Like I do it with everything, it’s not about our family.”

Kourtney questioned the relevance of school, saying, “Let’s say the school system. I’ll think, ‘Why do kids f—— go to school?’ Truly. It’s so dated.”

Her sister Khloé agreed, adding, “Oh, I’m such a homeschool person. So don’t even get me going.”

Parenting Philosophy and Homeschooling

Kourtney revealed how she talks with her children, who send her videos of successful people whose kids didn’t attend school.

“And then I’m like, ‘What’s the goal here? You want to do homeschool? Let’s do it!’ Or whatever it is. I think it’s anything,” she said.

She added, “I will like nurse the fever of my kids versus giving Tylenol or ibuprofen. I just want to do that.”

She also noted that her parenting style might differ from others, especially in the United States.

Attachment Parenting with Son Rocky

Kourtney also opened up about her parenting style with her and Travis Barker’s 18-month-old son, Rocky.

She explained, “And, also with the attachment style parenting, I hold him for his naps.”

“I’ll sit in my little chair, usually in the room, and then I still have my little breastfeeding pillow, and he’ll kind of lay on there with my arms under, and then I have a little radiation blanket that I put over to protect from EMFs.”
