CBN’s exchange rate data on its website revealed that the Naira gained slightly, moving to N1,534.52 per dollar on Thursday from N1,534.83 recorded on Wednesday.
This represents a day-to-day gain of approximately 0.3.
Black Market Rate Remains Unchanged
At the parallel or black market, the Naira remained steady at N1,565 per dollar on Thursday, the same rate as the previous day.
Recent Trend in Naira Appreciation
On Wednesday, the Naira also appreciated across both official and parallel foreign exchange markets.
CBN Advises Proper Currency Handling
In a recent statement, CBN spokesperson Hakama Sidi Ali reminded Nigerians to avoid spraying, hawking, mutilating, or counterfeiting the Naira.
The apex bank’s advice aims to protect the integrity and value of the Nigerian currency as it continues to navigate fluctuations in the forex market.
