Norway: Victor Boniface Recalls Telling Mourinho ‘You Never See Anything’ Before Roma Defeat

‘You never see anything’ – Boniface reveals past exchange with Jose Mourinho

Nigerian forward, Victor Boniface, has shared details of a brief interaction he once had with legendary manager José Mourinho.

The Meeting Before a Famous Defeat

According to Boniface, the exchange took place shortly before AS Roma’s shocking 6-1 loss to Bodø/Glimt in the UEFA Europa Conference League on October 21, 2021.

Playing in Norway’s Harsh Weather

Boniface, who previously represented the Norwegian side Bodø/Glimt before moving to Bayer Leverkusen, reflected on the severe conditions in Norway.
He said:

“I played in Norway, one of the coldest countries in the world. Bodø is a very small city, surrounded by the sea — it’s freezing.”

Mourinho’s Pre-Match Reaction

The striker recalled how Mourinho reacted to the climate:

“Mourinho came to the pitch, took his phone, recorded everything and posted: ‘This is the situation, we’re about to play, very cold.’

Boniface’s Unexpected Comment

At the time, Boniface cheekily responded to Mourinho’s post:

“I commented because I didn’t know I’d be at this level today. I said, ‘You never see anything.’

Injury Kept Him Out of Action

The Super Eagles striker, however, did not take part in the famous game as he was sidelined with a cruciate ligament injury.
