The Plateau State Government has restated its dedication to strengthening the healthcare system to achieve Universal Health Coverage for its citizens.
Commissioner for Health, Dr. Nicholas Ba’amlong, made this known while speaking with journalists about the upcoming 11th Plateau State Council on Health.
Council on Health to Drive Inclusive Reforms
According to Ba’amlong, the Council’s main goal is to build a resilient and inclusive health system that guarantees quality medical services across the state.
He explained that the discussions will focus on improving access to essential medicines and boosting maternal and neonatal health outcomes, especially in rural communities.

Ba’amlong stressed that the Council will act as a high-level platform where stakeholders can review progress, exchange experiences, and address challenges.
He added that participants will also agree on workable strategies for transforming the state’s health sector.
