Should Kaizer Chiefs Sign Sipho Mbule in 2025

‘Kaizer Chiefs need Sipho Mbule’ says Moagi

It’s the burning question dominating discussions among Kaizer Chiefs supporters across Mzansi.

Should Amakhosi make a move to sign Sipho Mbule ahead of the new season?

The debate intensified after Moshikaro Moagi, a well-known Kaizer Chiefs supporter, publicly backed the move.

Moagi is famously known for promising to walk from the FNB Stadium to Tzaneen if the club lost to Mamelodi Sundowns last season.

Now, he’s urging the club to secure the services of the talented 27-year-old midfielder.

Mbule, born in Bethlehem, is currently a free agent after being released by the 2024/25 Betway Premiership champions, Mamelodi Sundowns.

His release was reportedly due to ill-discipline, particularly linked to alcohol-related behaviour.

Despite his off-field troubles, Moagi believes Mbule deserves a fresh start — and that start should be at Naturena.

Fan Opinion Favors Mbule’s Transfer

“Sipho Mbule is a good player, even though he has had some off-field issues.

Sometimes, a change of environment can lead to a change in behaviour,” Moagi told KickOff.

He continued by saying, “If given the chance, he could prove himself.

He’s a talented footballer, so I believe he should be given an opportunity.

If you look at his performances, when Kaizer Chiefs face Sipho Mbule, he always puts up a strong fight.

That alone might indicate where his passion lies.”

Mbule’s Performance and Potential

Moagi praised Mbule’s form during his loan spell, stating that he was the standout player at Sekhukhune United this season.

Interestingly, his parent club, Mamelodi Sundowns, reportedly included a clause in his contract that prevented him from playing against them.

This move has raised eyebrows and further fueled speculation about his immense quality and threat level.

“There is definitely a position for Mbule at Kaizer Chiefs,” Moagi said.

“We currently lack experienced players.

Most of the other players don’t match his level at Chiefs.

He is more advanced.”

Who Should Chiefs Avoid Signing

While Moagi supports the signing of Mbule, he was not as enthusiastic about another potential signing — Rivaldo Coetzee.

“The player I do not recommend signing is Rivaldo Coetzee.

I’m not convinced that we need him at Chiefs, even though he is currently a free agent,” Moagi concluded.

Final Thoughts

The question now remains — should Kaizer Chiefs act on this popular opinion and give Sipho Mbule a second chance?

His talent is unquestionable, and a change of scenery could be just what he needs to revive his career.

However, his disciplinary record may still be a concern for management.

What’s clear is that supporters like Moagi believe strongly in Mbule’s potential contribution.

Only time will tell if Kaizer Chiefs will take that gamble.
