South Africa has officially launched the Miss Polo Universe Africa 2025 pageant, marking a historic step in women’s empowerment and international diplomacy.
Unlike traditional beauty contests, this pageant focuses on crowning women as leaders, ambassadors, and change-makers in culture and commerce.
The theme, “Crown Your Purpose,” reflects its mission to provide opportunities for women to engage in diplomacy and economic development.
This initiative reinforces South Africa’s role as a key player on the African continent and in global affairs.
Partnership With Dubai’s Royal Family
A standout feature of the pageant is its exclusive partnership with the Royal Family of Dubai, led by Ms. Zainan Al Taher.
This royal backing connects South African contestants to influential networks in trade, investment, and international mentorship.
Participants will gain access to cultural exchange opportunities and business growth worth millions of rands.
Leadership at the Helm
Palesa Matjekane, former Mrs South Africa and current CEO of Miss Polo Universe Africa, emphasized the pageant’s purpose.
“We’re not crowning beauty queens, we’re launching South African ambassadors in trade and culture. This pageant is foreign policy in action,” Matjekane said.
Her experience includes recognition from the Malala Fund and international humanitarian awards, highlighting her dedication to social impact and leadership.
Application and Pageant Process
Applications open from 15 to 23 August for women aged 18 to 40 years, offering a broader age range than most pageants.
Each finalist’s participation involves an investment exceeding R500,000, covering international travel, training, wardrobe, and accommodation.
Virtual auditions will run from 24 to 31 August, eliminating geographical barriers.
The top 10 finalists will then attend an intensive bootcamp in Johannesburg in early September, receiving training in diplomacy, entrepreneurship with UAE business leaders, media coaching, and social impact development.
Representing South Africa on the Global Stage
Three winners will be crowned in October 2025 and will travel to Dubai in November for the global Miss Polo Universe finale.
They will represent South Africa internationally, with broadcasts reaching audiences across Africa and the Middle East.
The pageant combines beauty with leadership, intelligence, and purpose, showcasing South African women as global movers and shakers.
