Excitement is sweeping South Africa as the PowerBall and PowerBall Plus jackpots climb to a combined R53 million.
According to lottery operator ITHUBA, the PowerBall prize now stands at R15 million, while the PowerBall Plus jackpot has reached R38 million ahead of the next draws on Friday, 15 August 2025.
This follows the fact that no one won the jackpots during the Tuesday, 12 August draws.

PowerBall Rules
For PowerBall, players pick five main numbers (1–50) and one PowerBall number (1–20).
The entry fee is R5 per board, with draws held every Tuesday and Friday.
The record prize for PowerBall was R232,131,750.69, won on 19 February 2019.
PowerBall Plus Rules
PowerBall Plus operates like PowerBall, giving players a second chance to win.
When buying a PowerBall ticket, players can pay R2.50 per board extra to enter the PowerBall Plus draw.
Prizes are usually slightly lower, but odds remain the same. The game was launched on 28 November 2015.
