Court records show Garrett was stopped at 2:01 a.m. after being recorded driving 100 miles per hour on the interstate where the speed limit is 60 mph.
Browns Acknowledge Incident
A spokesperson for the Browns confirmed that the team is aware of the speeding citation issued to Garrett.
Fine Issued with No Court Appearance Required
Garrett was fined $250 for the violation. If he pays the fine, he will not be required to appear in court on Thursday morning.
Garrett Missed Preseason Opener but Participated in Training
The Browns faced the Carolina Panthers in their preseason opener on Friday night in Charlotte, North Carolina. Garrett was one of several veteran players who did not play in the game.
He returned to participate in training camp practice on Monday morning.
