
The University of Abuja is now receiving applications for its 2025/2026 Degree Upgrader Programme.
This special programme is designed for individuals who hold a Higher National Diploma (HND) or a Bachelor’s degree with third-class or pass grades.
The programme is handled by the Centre for Distance Learning and Continuing Education and is aimed at helping students improve their qualifications for better career and academic opportunities.

Admission Requirements
To qualify, candidates must have one of the following:
- HND with a minimum of Lower Credit
- Bachelor’s degree with Third Class or Pass grade
- Qualification must be from a legally recognised institution
In addition, you must meet one of these academic requirements:
- Five (5) O’Level credits including English Language and Mathematics
- Two A-Level passes with 5 O’Level credits
- National Diploma (ND) or NCE with 10 points
- IJMB with 10 points and credit passes in required subjects
Accepted exam bodies include:
- WAEC
- NECO
- NABTEB
- GCE O’Level
- Teachers’ Grade II
How to Apply for the Degree Upgrader Programme
Follow these steps to apply:
- Visit the UNIABUJA application portal
- Click on Application Access
- Choose Bachelor’s Degree Upgrade via the direct application link
- Fill in the following personal information:
- Surname
- First Name
- Other Names
- Email Address
- Phone Number
- Click Next
- On the preview page, click Generate RRR
- Click Make Payment to be redirected to Remita
- Pay the application fee of ₦20,000 using MasterCard or Visa Card
- After successful payment, you will be redirected back to the portal
- Your application number will be displayed and also sent to your phone via SMS
- You will be logged out automatically
- Visit the Main Login page
- Use your application number and surname to log in
- Complete and submit your application
Important Notes
- Use a valid and working email address
- Use a phone number that can receive SMS updates
- No refunds will be issued after payment
- Do not share your login or payment information
Application Deadline
All applications must be completed and submitted before Friday, 13 June 2025.
There will be no extension and late entries will not be accepted.
