The University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) has officially announced the opening of its postgraduate admission for the 2025/2026 academic session.

This application window is open to candidates interested in diploma, master’s, M.Phil., and Ph.D. programmes.
The session will run from 2nd October 2025 to 30th September 2026.

Postgraduate Programmes Available

Ph.D. Programmes

Applicants must hold a Master’s degree (M.A., M.Ed., M.Eng., M.Sc., LL.M, or M.P.H.) with a minimum of 60% or a CGPA of 4.0/5.0.

M.Phil./Ph.D. Programmes

For candidates with a CGPA of 3.5–3.99 or a score between 55% and 59.99%.
Duration:

M.Phil. Programmes

For candidates with a CGPA between 3.0–3.49 or 50%–54.99%.
Duration:

Master’s Programmes (M.A., M.Ed., M.Eng., M.Sc., LL.M, M.P.H.)

Entry requires a minimum of a second-class lower degree.
Duration:

Postgraduate Diplomas (PGD)

Open to applicants with a third-class bachelor’s degree.
Programmes are completed through coursework.

Who Can Apply for UNILORIN Postgraduate Admission?

To qualify for application, candidates must:

O’Level Requirements

All applicants must have five credit passes including English Language and Mathematics.
However, those who completed their O’Level before 2015 may be allowed a pass in either subject.

Additional Master’s Degree Rules

If you are applying for a Master’s degree outside your undergraduate course, you must pass a qualifying test.

Ph.D. Specific Rules

Ph.D. applicants must attend a departmental interview.

Only those with the required Master’s qualification will be considered.

International Applicants
