Ethereum treasury company BTCS Inc has announced it will distribute a one-time Ether dividend and a loyalty payment totaling $0.40 per share in ETH.
The move is aimed at rewarding long-term shareholders while discouraging “predatory short-selling.”
First Publicly Traded Company to Pay Dividend in ETH
According to BTCS, this makes it the first publicly listed firm to offer a dividend directly in Ether.
The announcement boosted investor confidence, with BTCS shares climbing 10.4% in one day.
Details of the “Bividend” and Loyalty Payment
The ETH dividend, nicknamed the “Bividend,” amounts to $0.05 per share and will be distributed on September 26, 2025.
The $0.35 loyalty payment will be paid in ETH to shareholders who hold their stock until January 26, 2026.
The company clarified that officers, directors, and employees will not be eligible for the loyalty payment.
Growing Competition in ETH Treasury Holdings
BTCS is working to stand out in a crowded field of 69 Ethereum treasury entities racing to secure the largest ETH reserves.
Currently ranked 11th, BTCS holds 70,000 ETH valued at over $303 million, according to StrategicETHReserve data.
Rivals Lead ETH Accumulation Race
Bitmine Immersion Tech tops the list with 1.5 million ETH, while SharpLink Gaming follows with 728,800 ETH.
BTCS continues to strengthen its position by leveraging decentralized finance strategies such as staking and borrowing on Aave.
Funding Strategy for ETH Purchases
The company has financed its ETH acquisitions through at-the-market equity offerings and convertible notes, a method also used by competing firms in the space.
Stock Recovery After July Decline
Following the news, BTCS stock rose to $4.87, recovering from earlier declines after reaching a 2025 high of $6.57 on July 18.
The Nasdaq-listed firm currently boasts a market cap of $233 million.
