WAEC GCE 2024 2nd Series Result Is Out – See How to Check Yours
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released the results for the 2024 General Certificate Examination (GCE) 2nd Series.
This announcement brings relief to many candidates who sat for the private examination last year. According to WAEC, the results were made available on February 16, 2025, and candidates can now check their performance online.
67.55% of Candidates Passed with Good Grades
Out of about 65,000 candidates that registered for the exam, 43,923 candidates, which is 67.55%, scored credit passes and above in five subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.
This is good news, especially for those who need the result for admission into higher institutions.
Results of 2,577 Candidates Withheld
WAEC also mentioned that the results of 2,577 candidates were withheld due to exam malpractice. The council said investigations are ongoing, and the affected candidates will be informed of the final decision once the process is complete.
Exam malpractice has been a major challenge over the years, and WAEC continues to take strong measures to curb it.
