Al-Hikmah University Founder Grants 30% Scholarship to MBBS Students

Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, has announced a special scholarship for students who want to study Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) in the institution.

The Founder and Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Alhaji Chief (Dr.) AbdulRaheem Oladimeji, OFR, has approved a 30% scholarship for all newly admitted 100-level MBBS students.

This decision was made during an emergency Governing Council meeting on Tuesday, 18th February 2025. The aim is to reduce the financial burden on students and encourage more people to study medicine at Al-Hikmah University.

For 100-level students, the normal school fees for the MBBS programme is N5,000,000. There is also an accommodation fee of N500,000, making the total cost N5,500,000.

With the 30% scholarship, students will receive a reduction of N1,500,000, bringing the new tuition fee to N3,500,000.

Here is how the payment will be made:

At the time of registration, students must pay 60% of the tuition fee (N2,100,000) plus the full accommodation fee (N500,000), making it N2,600,000.

The remaining balance of N1,400,000 must be paid before the Rain Semester examinations.

For 200-level MBBS students, the university is also offering a 15% reduction in tuition fees.

Medical education in Nigeria is very expensive, and many students struggle to afford it. This scholarship will help ease the financial stress on parents and students who dream of becoming doctors.
