Dar es Salaam Super Eagles Coach Pledges to Play for Pride Against Congo

Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle, has stated that his team will fight for pride in their final group match against Congo at the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN).

Chelle’s side has already crashed out of the tournament after back-to-back defeats in their first two matches.

Super Eagles Suffered Heavy Defeats

The Nigerian team fell 1-0 to Senegal in their opening game before being hammered 4-0 by Sudan in their second outing.

These results ended their hopes of advancing in the competition.

Chelle Admits Team’s Mistakes

Speaking at a press conference, Chelle admitted that his team committed several errors in the earlier matches.

However, he emphasized the importance of finishing the tournament on a positive note.

“We made a lot of mistakes in the previous games, and the tournament is over, but we must return home with something,” Chelle said.

Final Group Game Scheduled in Dar es Salaam

The Eagles will face Congo in their last group fixture at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam on Tuesday.

The match will kick off at 6 p.m. Nigerian time.
