Obosi, Anambra Jeep Crashes Into Tricycles, One Dead

One person has been confirmed dead while five others sustained injuries after a Lexus Jeep collided with two tricycles in Obosi, Idemili North Local Government Area, Anambra State.

The crash occurred on Saturday morning at approximately 6:30 am along People’s Club-Limca Road, ahead of the by-elections for Anambra South Senatorial District and Onitsha North I State Constituency.


Eyewitnesses Report Vehicle Occupants Fled

Eyewitnesses noted that the passengers of the vehicle, reportedly security operatives, fled the scene with their rifles after realizing the gravity of the accident.


Police Confirm Incident and Recovery of Vehicle

The Police Public Relations Officer, Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the incident, stating that the Lexus Jeep has been recovered and a full investigation has been ordered by the Commissioner of Police, Ikioye Orutugu.


Victims Taken to Hospital

Ikenga explained that the collision resulted in one fatality, while others sustained varying degrees of injuries.

The injured were transported to the hospital, where one person was pronounced dead.


Lexus Jeep Not Linked to Security Agency

Police enquiries revealed that the Lexus Jeep involved in the accident does not belong to any security agency in Anambra State.

Authorities are continuing investigations to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the crash.


Police Urge Calm

Residents have been urged by the police to remain calm while investigations proceed.

Authorities assured the public that all aspects of the accident are being thoroughly examined.
