Charles EstherSerena Williams has sparked a conversation about fairness and equality in tennis after questioning the leniency of Jannik Sinner’s doping suspension.
Sinner, the current world No. 1 in men’s tennis, was recently handed a three-month suspension after testing positive for clostebol, a banned substance.
The 21-year-old Italian player explained that the contamination occurred inadvertently, as it was linked to his fitness trainer’s spray.
Despite initially being cleared of wrongdoing, an appeal from the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) led to a revised suspension.

In a recent interview with Time magazine, Williams remarked, “If I did that, I would have gotten 20 years.
Let’s be honest.
I would have gotten Grand Slams taken away from me.”

I can’t help but feel for her,” Williams said.
