David AwoyodeSamsung follows its usual release cycle, the Galaxy S26 series will arrive in January 2026. Fresh leaks have surfaced about the base model, giving fans a first look at its upgraded specifications.
Display and Battery Upgrades
According to Digital Chat Station (via Wccftech), the standard Galaxy S26 will feature a 6.27-inch display and a 4,300 mAh battery. These mark an improvement over the Galaxy S25’s 6.2-inch screen and 4,000 mAh battery, which were unchanged from the Galaxy S24.
The increase in battery capacity won’t guarantee dramatically longer life, since software and chipset efficiency also play a role, but the extra power is expected to benefit everyday use.
Possible “Pro” Branding for Standard Model
Another trusted leaker, Tarun Vats, repeated the spec leak and suggested the base model may launch as the Galaxy S26 Pro. Samsung could be reshuffling its lineup, with reports hinting that the Galaxy S25 Plus will be the last of its kind.
That would leave Samsung’s flagship range in 2026 as the Galaxy S26 Pro, Galaxy S26 Edge, and Galaxy S26 Ultra.
Ultra Model to Lead on Features
As usual, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is tipped to deliver the most substantial upgrades. Rumors point to improvements in camera performance and charging speeds, keeping Samsung’s top-tier model competitive in the premium market.
What’s Next in the Smartphone Race
While leaks for the Galaxy S26 continue to emerge, attention is also on the Google Pixel 10, which is set to launch this week. Its debut could set new benchmarks for Android flagships ahead of Samsung’s 2026 release.
