SolomonThe Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially closed the registration for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). The registration, which started on February 3, 2025, ended on March 8, 2025, as scheduled by the examination body.
According to JAMB, a total of 2,030,627 candidates successfully registered for the examination. This number does not include candidates who registered from foreign centers. The high number of registrations shows that many Nigerian students are eager to secure admission into tertiary institutions in the country.
No Extension for Latecomers
JAMB had earlier warned that there would be no extension for the registration deadline. Many students who delayed or had issues completing their registration were advised to ensure they met the deadline. However, as the deadline has passed, those who could not register will have to wait for the next UTME registration in 2026.
UTME Exam Date and What to Expect
The 2025 UTME is scheduled to take place from April 25 to May 5, 2025. Candidates are advised to start preparing for the exams immediately. Past UTME exams have shown that proper preparation helps candidates score better and secure admission easily.
JAMB has also assured that this year’s UTME will be conducted with strict adherence to exam regulations to prevent malpractice. Candidates must ensure they follow all guidelines, including bringing their registration slips, valid identification, and other necessary materials to the exam centers.
