Kaduna bye-election: APC wins Zaria Kewaye and Basawa Assembly seats

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has emerged victorious in the bye-elections conducted on Saturday for the Kaduna State House of Assembly seats in Zaria Kewaye and Basawa constituencies.

Zaria Kewaye Constituency Result

Announcing the result on Sunday morning, the Returning Officer, Prof. Balarabe Abdullahi, declared APC candidate Isa Haruna Ihamo as winner with a total of 26,613 votes.

The Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate, Nuhu Sada Abdullahi, polled 5,721 votes.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Mamuda Abdullahi Wappa, secured 5,331 votes.

Basawa Constituency Result

In Basawa State Constituency, the APC candidate also clinched victory.

According to the final results, APC secured 10,926 votes, while the PDP candidate polled 5,499 votes.

APC Strengthens Grip in Kaduna Assembly

The results from both constituencies reaffirm APC’s dominance in Kaduna politics, further strengthening its hold in the State House of Assembly.
