NPFL: Wikki Tourists sign nine players ahead new season

Wikki Tourists have announced the signing of nine new players ahead of the 2025-26 Nigeria Premier Football League season.


Key Midfield Addition

Experienced midfielder Nasiru Auwalu joins Wikki Tourists from Kano Pillars.

Other additions to the squad include Philip Johnson from Akwa United, Sani Ibrahim from Inter Lagos, Luis Dadong from Kwara United, Abdullahi Usman from Sporting Lagos, Idris Ashiru Dantata from Malitakicare, Kabiru Abdullahi from Lobi Stars, and Abba Usman from Nasarawa United.


Promising Talent Given Professional Contract

Wikki Tourists have also handed Saddam Nahuta his first professional contract after his standout performances with non-league side Warinje FC.


Coaching and Management

Abdullahi Maikaba, the team’s head coach, has been overseeing the squad’s preparation ahead of the new season.


Season Opener Scheduled

Wikki Tourists will start their 2025-26 NPFL campaign with a match against Plateau United.

The season opener is set to take place at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium in Bauchi on Friday, 22nd August.
