Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Lehlohonolo Majoro has publicly tipped Lucas Ribeiro as his favourite for the Betway Player of the Season award.
The 26-year-old Brazilian forward had a remarkable campaign, scoring 16 goals and providing nine assists in 28 games for Mamelodi Sundowns.
His outstanding contributions played a pivotal role in helping Sundowns secure the Betway Premiership title this season.
Majoro Praises Ribeiro’s Impact
Majoro, who also played for Orlando Pirates, praised Ribeiro for being more than just a prolific goalscorer.
He highlighted Ribeiro’s ability to create opportunities and assist his teammates consistently.
“That’s a very good one,” Majoro told the media when asked about potential candidates.
“There’s a couple of guys that played their role; Ribeiro from Sundowns,” he added.
“Not only a top goalscorer, he’s also a creator. He has more assists.”

Majoro also mentioned Relebohile Mofokeng as another standout player worthy of consideration for the award.
Mofokeng’s impressive performances have also caught the eye this season.
“Relebohile Mofokeng also raised his hand towards that category,” said Majoro.
“But other than those two, I don’t know who else, but like those two, are the ones that I believe one of them will be crowned Betway Player of the Season.”
